Laura D. Delo, CRNP Memorial Scholarship
The Laura D. Delo, CRNP (1951-2012) Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Laura D. (Wilkinson) Delo. Laura graduated from Plum Borough High School, Pittsburgh, Pa., the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing, the Pennsylvania State University (B.S. in Nursing) and Millersville University (M.S. in Nursing). Over her 40-year nursing career, Laura expanded her skills, knowledge and experience in critical care, pulmonary medicine, outpatient care, nursing education, nursing administration and psychiatry. After moving to Central Pennsylvania, Laura worked at HACC as an adjunct clinical instructor in the Health Careers Department for 10 years. Later, Laura was employed at the Hershey Medical Center working in the Pulmonary Medicine Division as a pulmonary medicine/sleep medicine nurse practitioner.
Laura’s enthusiasm and passion for teaching nursing was inspired by her devotion to provide exceptional patient care as a conscientious and energetic patient advocate. Laura found a great deal of satisfaction in teaching and always found it rewarding running into former nursing students where she would learn of their careers and experiences. Laura was a model health care professional displaying the essential qualities of a natural leader. She was a special caring person of great heart united with a wealth of intellect, wit and humor.

The Laura D. Delo, CRNP (1951-2012) Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Laura D. (Wilkinson) Delo. Ensuring care for others was a passion and gift that Laura demonstrated throughout her nursing career. The family is establishing a scholarship in Laura’s name to provide opportunities for others to experience a rewarding career in health care. The scholarship serves as a remembrance of Laura’s work in health care, and provides financial support to those that are called to serve others.
